Swallowtail Shawl

On Thursday I cast on for the Swallowtail, I am attempting this on straights as I do not have circs in the correct size required and I am sick to death of having to wait till I can afford them, I figure if it does not work out I have lost nothing right?

So far it is going OK, I have somehow made a mess on the 2nd pattern repeat and have lost a stitch somewhere along the way so I am going to have to frog is somewhat BUT because I put lifelines in I only have to frog it back to the start of this pattern repeat so not too far at all! I dont know why I have not used lifelines before!

I have been making a silk lace stole since May but I just keep on getting bored with the pattern, even though the Swallowtail is taxing I am thoroughly enjoying it and think I have finally figured out that I just need things that require me to pay more attention than not. So I think I am going to frog the stole AGAIN and make a shawl out of it, I have 3 skeins of the wonderful silk, so will have to check on Rav just how much meterage that is and then figure out what pattern I want to attempt next. I suppose I should really finish a couple of things first, as at the moment I am knitting my first pair of socks – just basic rib socks but still, the Swallowtail and a lace winter scarf! I really need to finish something before I cast on anything else!
